The class has made it clear why listening is so difficult. The answer relies on a couple of point:
1.
New vocabulary: some daily new words usually act crazy
role in conversation, but I did have no idea at all, e.g. detergent, if I don’t know it, it will be really hard to understand
my hostess` mean when she ask me something about washing cloth;
2.
Phrasal verb and idiom: some words are often used by
me, unfortunately I don’t know the different use in another order, e.g. put up with so that sometimes I listen a
sentence clear without understanding its meaning.
3.
Pronunciation: as soon as I chat with my Canadian
friends, I come to realise how odd my performance is, this is not easy to
correct, but I have to. Besides pronunciation, I should also pay more attention
for these points: stress, rhythm, link between words as well as sentences.
4.
Grammar: tense, plural or singular number, both of them
are not easy to master.
The summer conversation had given me some good tips to my
listening. Such as, watching movie,
learning popular English songs, acting some small drama, communication
with others in English, especially I find out some new technology resource in
internet, I mean, some website pretty suite me to self-study.
In my opinion, no matter what you study and how difficult it
is, as long as you can determine two things, it will be done.
No.1, make sure your direction which is fit for you;
No.2, chose the best method
which is fit for you.
Anything else? Of course, insist on doing, to repeat it over
and over again, never give up, then, one day, I will deserve my success, I am
sure.
